About Steve Vasilion

A resident for more than 16 years, Steve Vasilion has been active in Batavia community as a business owner and a member of the Batavia Historic Preservation Commission.

As the owner and lead designer of Vasilion Architects, Inc., Steve has designed several Batavia properties including the Peg Bond Center, the subsequent bandshell addition, and numerous private residences including the Kintop home featured on a Batavia’s House Walk. Other significant projects from Vasilion’s office include medical facility designs such as additions at Delnor-Community Hospital, Fox Valley Family Physicians, and Fox Valley Orthopaedics, all in Geneva.

His volunteer work as member and past-chairman of the Batavia Historic Preservation Commission includes developing and administering design standards for Batavia’s Downtown Historic District. Additionally, Steve created an ongoing high school mentoring program for local students interested in architectural careers, where students gain design and presentation skills by working with real business owners and city officials.

Steve is the father of three adult children and stepfather of two. He and his wife Laura, a writer, enjoy the local art scene and walking the bike paths along the Fox River.
